Lesson 22
We began with our usual warm up and also added vocal warm ups - saying tongue twisters, breathing in and walking on a 'm' 'ing' 'l' 'v' and 'ar', going through vocal ranges and singing hello to one another, doing exercises to open up our mouths and warming up our faces. After completing these exercises we began to focus on the tsunami, in order to make it more intense, Ben went around the class and requested us to tell him things that make us angry enabling us to have true emotion before starting on the scene. Ben emphasized on the point that within the scene we will need to be angry to create the atmosphere, as our emotions will be representing the strength of the tsunami. During the tsunami scene, we allowed our bodies to do unnatural movements, as we knew that doing natural movements will not show the true impact of a tsunami. Following from that scene we ran into the death scene, this needed working on because our emotions were forced instead of natural so as a cast we got into the mindset and reflected on the meaning of the show/ the scene which enabled us to show our true emotion.
We did a run through of the show.
