Lesson 1

Within the lesson today we were allocated our parts, my part is both fellowship and arrogance. We began to divvy up the lines for people that had the same character to make sure we were clear of all our lines within the script. Our director Ben, decided instead of doing a stereotypical read through where we sit in a circle and read, he suggested that we got up and start putting actions to the words, I found this a really interesting way of going through the script because not only are we reading the script we are getting a feel of the space and the actions we would like to incorporate within the play, this was a very good way of exploring the text, I felt it was a great way to do it because it got us all involved and made us be spontaneous, to just go with our instinct and work together as an ensemble, as the play is an ensemble piece and support everyone, because if one person is not putting their all in it reflects on the whole cast. We didn't manage to finish the whole of the script in today's rehearsal but it was a good lesson and i was able to understand the script in more depth.
